Howdy, I’m Captain Rex Allen. I grew up hunting and fishing in the Sportsman’s Paradise State of Louisiana. Growing up hunting and fishing on the bayou is in our blood in Cajun land. The marsh and bays of South East Louisiana hold the best Redfish and Speckled Trout fishing the world has to offer so it was almost easy honing in my early back country angler skills on the flats boat or pirogue with dad growing up. I’ve always had an infatuation and love for the natural world and knew that’s where I wanted to be.

Being around so many professional guides, commercial fisherman and tug boat captains growing up I saw the water as a future from an early age. Whether it was a canal, lake, bayou or roadside ditch I was there with a bicycle, ugly stick and friends most days of the week after the school bell rang, always trying to out catch the kid standing next to me. We made our own fun back then without the help of video games or iPhones! As I came into my teenage years I’d walk the local marinas with cast net and bucket in hand catching shrimp and baitfish to make a few bucks selling to local fisherman. On the weekends I’d be under water cleaning the bottoms of yachts or getting a nice crispy tan scrubbing decks. I thought I’d finally made it when I mated my first charter boat at 15 years old. Fast forward another 15 years and I’d find myself in the Mecca of sport fishing The Florida Keys, where I’d start my first charter boat business. The dream had finally manifested into a 35’ Cabo Express named Island Girl. Almost a decade later of charters and tournaments  I’m blessed enough to introduce to you what is now "Island Baby." A Bob Dougherty Everglades 243 center console, one of the finest all around boats in its size ever made. With a draft capable of getting into the skinny and enough dead rise and hull angle to get through the chop and out to sea on a decent day in comfort, Island Baby is the perfect boat from tarpon fishing near shore to yellowtail and grouper at the reef. I like to place an emphasis on family fun and my goal is to make memories you’ll share with your loved ones that not even old age  could take away!
